#TipTuesday - Changing Air Filters

8/18/2020 (Permalink)

This #TipTuesday is about home maintenance!

While this chore is typically easy, it is also easy to forget. Depending on the size of your home and amount of family members or pets, your filters should be changed anywhere from every 3 months to every 3 weeks.  A general guide to how often to change-

Vacation home, or single occupant: 2-3 times a year

Suburban home with no pets: 3 months

Suburban home with 1 pet: 2 months

Suburban home with more than 1 pet: every 20-45 days

Keeping your filters changed regularly can not only improve the quality of air being breathed in, but it can also extend the lifetime of your HVAC unit. Without the buildup of dirt, the unit can work much better and more efficiently.
